YDI Works with DYCD Programs to Bring Positive Youth Development Practice to LIfe

Staff at SONYC, COMPASS, Beacon and Cornerstone sites across the city are participating in YDI-led learning communities designed to deepen understanding of positive youth development (PYD) and ensure that programs benefit from a strong foundation in PYD theory and practice. Participants from provider organizations form small leadership teams and attend five in-depth training sessions. Working both in and across teams, participants examine their activities and programming, and explore staff development strategies to make sure that PYD is infused throughout their programs to strengthen positive outcomes for youth. YDI also provides technical assistance to participant organizations, who also get access to targeted on-line content that they can share with other staff.
