YDI in partnership with YES 2020 to provide virtual summer internship resources to Learn to Work (LTW) providers.
/YDI is proud to partner with YES 2020 to bring virtual summer internship resources to Learn to Work (LTW) providers. Throughout the summer there will be convenings for directors, educators, internship coordinators, social support staff, administrators, content providers, and other stakeholders involved in making this summer’s programming a success for the young people of New York City. At these convenings, there will be opportunities to:
Connect with one another to make meaningful project based learning (PBL) and workplace challenges happen
Share knowledge and resources
Troubleshoot challenges
Celebrate successes
…with the ultimate goal of supporting youth to equitably reach the five core aspirations of SummerBridge: (1) Connections to professionals, (2) Career exploration, (3) Authentic work experiences, (4) Socio-emotional learning supports, and (5) Skills-building.
BRING your challenges and questions to these meetings!! Meetings will include some structured/facilitated time to address a core issue (through a presentation, group problem-solving activity etc), and then some open breakout time to focus on the issues that participants most care about that week.
Please note: These meetings are designed to meet the needs of professionals serving Young People in SummerBridge but can be beneficial to anyone serving Youth this summer. Pardeice McGoy from YDI will be on hand at each meeting to answer questions and provide context.
