Professional Development for Member Career Internship Programs Serving New York City Youth

The Career Internship Network (CIN), a program of the Youth Development Institute of the Tides Center, comprises thirty New York City institutions with established internship programs that provide adolescents with direct experience and understanding of careers.

CIN’s professional development for staff of member programs includes workshops, structured site visits, information, and materials. Designed in consultation with members, these resources promote strong programs. CIN was developed by its funders and member programs.

CIN is a dynamic network that:

  • Promotes high-quality internship experiences for young people, based on youth development principles.
  • Guides internship staff in their work.
  • Builds understanding and support among member institutions.
  • Provides interested youth and their families or guardians, teachers, guidance counselors, community organization staff and others with information about internship opportunities.
  • Raises awareness among policymakers, funders, employers and others about the value of internships in the lives of young people.

If you are interested in available internships, please go to the Member List. You will find a profile for each member's program and contact information for you to use.
